  3. Discussion – how to create an introduction; lead a discussion and the advantages and disadvantages of both. 
  4. Effective Listening – understand the difference between assimilating information and summarising key information. 
  5. Written Communication – selecting the format, structure, style and tone to write clearly and definitively. 
  6. Introduction to Instructional Technique:
  7. Instructional Qualities – Preparation for how you will appear, develop your confidence and build a rapport with your audience. Planning and tailoring your subject matter for your chosen audience and how you will deliver the information. 
  8. Delivery & Development – rehearsal, timing, constructive feedback. 
  9. Use of Questions – how to monitor progress and maintain attention for your audience and how this enhances their learning.
  10. Practical Skills – how to develop your practical skills for delivering good introductions, practical demonstrations and how to give effective praise to your audience.
  11. Introduction to Supervisory Skills:
  12. Qualities & Attributes – essential leadership qualities, SWOT analysis and action centre leadership. 
  13. Types of Leadership – the different types of leadership including transactional and transformational leadership. The leadership principles you need to know. 
  14. Development & Performance – personal development training, coaching, feedback and appraisals and how to draw from these motivational techniques for various individuals to get the best from their performance.
