Foods that will help you study you hear? Brain power you hear?
Game, set, study!
However we’ll set the record straight first; whilst there is no one food that will miraculously boost your IQ and make you a genius overnight (Although we wish there were), there is scientific evidence to suggest that some foods in our diet can enhance the skills we need to study. That is; to remain awake, keep focused and feel energised so that we can get the best out of our study session.
There wouldn’t be such a thing as study if there was a super power in a food that allowed us to retain all knowledge and skills we learn immediately. Instead we must opt for regular study sessions to retain the knowledge we do have and increase it steadily by learning new things as we go on.
So which foods you wonder can help you achieve your study goals?
Below is a list of foods that can assist you in optimum health and brain function to increase your productivity whilst you are studying:
- Oily fish: a reliable source of protein and important omega 3 fatty acids, fish has been found to enhance memory and is necessary for brain health.
- Caffeine: Early mornings or late nights, a cup of coffee can certainly keep you awake. If not a lover of coffee, another good source is tea.
- Blueberries: chock full of antioxidants, they are a good source of energy and have been found to help protect the brain from damage by free radicals.
- Nuts: a healthy source of fats. Nuts are also filling and easy to snack on whilst you are revising notes.
- Dark chocolate: we all need a little indulgence here and there, but did you know that chocolate is a good source of antioxidants like vitamin E and has a certain amount of caffeine which can stimulate focus.
- Whole grains: they will not only fill you up but will also help reduce lethargy and keep you feeling energised whilst you study.
- Spinach: A wonder vege that contains large amounts of folic acid that can improve your ability to recall information.
With this in mind, you will be able to come up with some super-tasty, energy-charged meals and snacks that will be sure to make your study session a breeze.
