It aims to provide you with a better understanding of the physical surroundings of the world we live in. By studying the environment you should increase your awareness and understanding of the world, you should begin to notice things in your surroundings which you didn\'t notice before, and you will increase your appreciation of the complexities and intricacies of the natural and man made world which you live in.
